Allow me to introduce myself, my new family calls me Lacie, which is just fine with me since they have saved from that desolate place where my last family left me. You see, I don't quite understand what I did wrong, but for some reason my last family took me for a long car ride to the middle of the country, where they left me with only a bag of food for my wellbeing. I don't quite remember how long I was there, scared and lonesome. Then a nice man and his dog came to my rescue and convinced me that they were here to save me from the rain and show me a new, better life.

Since then I am learning to trust those new people who are interested in me, but please be patient as I am weary that I might encounter a human as horrid as my last owner. I absolutely adore my current family, but they say I can only stay until my forever home is found, I sure hope that comes soon because I am really learning to like it here. I promise to be a good girl to someone who will give me a chance at the good life so many people talk about, I will not potty in the house and I will slowly adjust to your friends and neighbors, but never to leave my yard without you by my side. I would greatly enjoy an active person who will socialize me and take me to obedience classes where I can improve on my already learned basic obedience skills. I know there is a wonderful family out there in need of me as I am in need of them.
UPDATE: 8/15/05
Lacie is like a new dog, finally out of her shell and loving life to it's fullest! She is quick to greet everyone she has learned to love and her fears of strangers is overcome by those who reach her level for a big kiss! Our behaviorist's evaluation of Lacie has reassured us that she is a great family dog, not at all aggressive or a "fear biter". Lacie is best suited for someone who is familiar with her breed and no small children, who might scare her into submission. She will do well with older children and any loving adults!
